THREE kittens have been found dumped on a doorstep in an empty beer box.

The Scottish SPCA was called after the discovery in Charles Crescent, Bathgate, on Thursday.

The 10-12 week old kittens, two males and one female, are now being cared for at the Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Hamilton.

Animal Rescue Officer Connie O’Neill said: “The kittens are really friendly, indicating they had plenty of human interaction prior to being dumped.

“We’re very keen to trace the person responsible for abandoning them as they could easily have escaped from the cardboard box they were left in and come to harm.

“We’ll look after them until we can find them all loving new homes.”
