A PLAY aimed at raising awareness among teenagers about the dangers of carrying knives is set to be performed in Lothian schools.

Wee Andy will be performed at most secondary schools in West Lothian as part of the Straight to the Point campaign run by the local council, police and other agencies.

The play, performed by the Baldy Bain Theatre Company, will be followed by an interactive workshop with members of the audience.

A police spokeswoman said: “The purpose of this project, which is aimed at second and third-year pupils, is to highlight the consequences of violent crime, including the effects it has on the individuals concerned, families and the wider community.”
