A 20-year-old man has been robbed at knifepoint in Portobello by two men on mountain bikes.
The attack happened just before 10pm on Friday.
The victim was walking along Hope Lane near St Mark’s Place, when he was approached by two men on bikes who robbed him of his mobile phone at knifepoint.
Both suspects are white and aged in their late teens. One is around 5ft10” tall with a slim build wearing a dark grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms and the other is around 6ft tall with a medium build, and was wearing a lighter grey hooded top.
Officers are now keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or saw two men cycling towards Milton Road around that time.
Detective Sergeant Graham Grant, who is leading the investigation, said: “Fortunately the victim was not injured during this robbery, but was left very shaken and we are eager to speak to anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in or around the Hope Lane area on Friday night.”
“Similarly, anyone who recognises the description of the suspects is also asked to get in touch by calling Police Scotland on 101”
