A PRISONER out on licence for possessing more than half a million child porn pictures was caught with a further 30,000 indecent images of under-age youngsters.

Yeoman Smith was released from jail last April after serving half of a 25-month sentence for having the hidden hoard of 581,649 still images and 1884 moving indecent images. Police acting on intelligence went to his home in Mid Calder, West Lothian, in September armed with a search warrant, Livingston Sheriff Court was told.

They found thousands of sickening images on a laptop computer, including 65 pornographic videos involving youngsters.

Smith, 43, a self-employed information technology consultant, pleaded guilty to possessing and taking, or permitting to be taken, indecent photographs of children between August 13 and September 5, last year.

Sheriff Donald Muirhead deferred sentence for reports but warned that prison would be “appropriate”.

The High Court has already recalled Smith to serve the unexpired part of his original sentence.
