experts predict MADONNA’S first ever concert on Scottish soil will generate millions of pounds for the city economy.

It was finally confirmed yesterday that the Material Girl will play a summer concert in Murrayfield Stadium.

And commerce chiefs believe it will prove lucrative for city coffers with fans from across the country expected to make the pilgrimage to Edinburgh.

The star will perform in Scotland on July 21 with tickets ranging from £45 to £125.

Graham Birse, director of policy at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, said: “Adding up the figures you would be looking at between £4 and 5 million for the local economy.”
