ARMED police sealed off Musselburgh High Street after reports of a disturbance in a flat.
The road was closed shortly before midday yesterday as officers prepared to raid the property.
Neighbour Craig Hanratty, 20, heard a commotion and saw dozens of police swarming the street.
He said: “I looked out the window and there was armed police everywhere and about four with police dogs.
“The police helicopter was out and there was an ambulance across the road in case anything happened.”
Later, forensics officers could be seen scouring the top floor flat while an officer stood guarding the entrance to the flats.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland responded to an incident in Musselburgh after a report of a disturbance at a property on the High Street at 10.30am. The area was cordoned was cordoned off as a precaution while officers gained entry.
“A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with breach of the peace and he will appear in court today.”
