A MAN left a 12-year-old schoolgirl with a bloody nose after she threw a snowball at him in the street.
Stephen Ferrier followed the youngster to her front door and pushed her on the face.
Livingston Sheriff Court heard that Ferrier was on his way back from a friend’s funeral when the incident happened.
Gerry Bann, defending, said: “He was in a fairly emotional state, which explains his over-reaction.
“In most situations people would just laugh it off or give some rebuke to the child.”
He added: “The child’s mother said to him laughingly that if it happened again he should kick her on the bottom.
“He very much regrets his loss of control on this day.”
Ferrier, 23, from Blackburn, West Lothian, pleaded guilty to assaulting the girl to her injury on March 19 this year.
He was fined £120.
