A MAN has appeared in court for a second time charged with murdering a frail pensioner.
Keiryn Nisbet appeared on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday. The 21-year-old, from Armadale, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. He was fully committed for trial by jury next year.
Robert Simpson was found dead in his flat in Mayfield Drive, Armadale, West Lothian, at 9pm on Saturday, October 6. The 67-year-old had been attacked and had suffered serious head injuries.
Police described Mr Simpson as a small, frail man who often walked with a stick or crutch. The night before he was found dead, officers had been called to reports of a disturbance at Mr Simpson’s home. When they arrived, there was no answer at the door so they left.
