A MAN has died after being hit by a car in Drumbrae on Saturday night.

The 62-year-old was struck by a red Suzuki Swift at 10.30pm while walking at Drum Brae Drive.

The driver of the car was uninjured and police are now appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

A spokeswoman said: “Police in Edinburgh responded to Drum Brae Drive at around 10.30pm on Saturday, January 9, following a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a red Suzuki Swift.

“Sadly, a 62-year-old man passed away as a result of the injuries sustained during this incident.

“His next of kin have been informed and officers are offering them support at this difficult time.

“The driver of the vehicle was uninjured. Inquiries into the full set of circumstances are ongoing and anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to contact police on 101.”
