A MAN has died after a fire in a flat in Dumbiedykes.

Firefighters were called to the third-floor flat in Viewcraig Gardens at around 5pm yesterday.

They rescued the 37-year-old man and gave him CPR until the ambulance arrived. He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but later died.

Police said the man’s name would not be released until next of kin had been informed.

A spokesman said the fire was being treated as unexplained and investigations into the cause were continuing.
