A MAN has appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court charged with making racist remarks on Facebook about the tragic toddler Mikaeel Kular.

It is alleged that Jamie Milligan, 24, from Paisley, posted comments that were “grossly offensive” between January 17 and 19 while acting in a manner which was threatening or abusive and likely to cause fear and alarm to others regarding the death of the three-year-old.

Mikaeel was found in dead last Friday night after being reported missing on Thursday morning. His mother, Rosdeep Kular, 33, appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, charged with his murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Milligan is also charged with posting a further comment on Facebook in which he threatened to rape a named woman, placing her in a state of fear and alarm.

He made no plea or declaration when he appeared on petition represented by defence agent Charlie McCusker, and was released on bail when the case against him was continued for further examination.
