A 50-YEAR-OLD man has been hospitalised and is in serious condition after he was hit by a car in the Capital.

It is thought he was walking on the northbound carriageway of the A90, just north of Cramond, when the collision with a blue Volkswagen Touran happened at around 3.15am on Saturday morning.

The man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and his condition is described as “serious”.

Police said inquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident were ongoing and they have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Roger Park, of the Police Scotland Trunk Road patrol group, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and who believes that they may have witnessed the incident or indeed have any relevant information to contact the police on 101.”
