A MAN has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a house blaze.

Fire crews were called to a third-floor property in Viewcraig Gardens at 4.50pm.

The man was rescued from the blaze and was given CPR until an ambulance crew arrived.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “There was one male rescued from the property by firefighters and he was given CPR by the fire service until the arrival of the ambulance service.

“He was taken to the Royal Infirmary and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
