A MAN was rescued last night from the cliffs in Edinburgh after reports he had fallen.

Emergency crews staged a dramatic rescue after a male climber was reported to have injured himself on the Crags.

The man was taken to hospital at around 8pm where he was being treated for injuries.

His condition was not known last night. Two ambulance units attended the scene after they were alerted to the accident at around 7.30pm.

The fire service attended the scene first bringing the man to safety. Last July a man was rushed to hospital suffering head and neck injuries after falling around 50ft.

The cliffs are a popular climbing spot with tourists.
