A BEAUTY queen told police she’d been robbed because she was scared to go home and tell her mum she’d lost her new phone.
Alicia Akinlami – who was crowned Miss West Lothian in December – made up the story after losing her £500 mobile on a night out with her boyfriend.
She went to Livingston Police Station and reported that she’d been assaulted and robbed of her jacket, the phone and a bag.
But after police viewed CCTV footage and quizzed the taxi driver who’d driven her home they found that she’d lied.
The 18-year-old pleaded guilty at Livingston Sheriff Court today to wasting police time on November 9 last year.
She had sentence deferred for a social work background report.
