FINDINGS from an investigation into the Mortonhall baby ashes scandal will not be published until the end of the year.
Dame Elish Angiolini, who is leading the inquiry on behalf of Edinburgh City Council, confirmed the investigation was likely to be finished in the autumn, but a full report would not be issued until several months later.
A progress update rather than preliminary findings will be made public over coming days.
The former Lord Advocate has so far interviewed past Mortonhall Crematorium bosses George Bell and Anne Grannum along with NHS Lothian staff.
Grieving parents are still seeking answers over why they were not offered ashes from baby cremations carried out at the council-run facility.
