A TEENAGE boy is fighting for his life after the motorbike he was riding crashed into a car.

Raheem Mohammed, 15, was reportedly riding pillion on the red motorcycle with a friend at the controls when they collided with a car on West Pilton Gardens on Tuesday evening.

The driver’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening, but Raheem is understood to be fighting for survival in a coma at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

His half-sister Natasha has called on friends to pray for him.

In a post on Facebook, she said: “My little brother was put in a coma, with little chance of survival.

“I’ve never felt heartache like this before. My brother, please keep fighting. I love you.

“If you can, say a prayer for him, please. He really needs it.”

Police say inquiries are ongoing and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Later, responding to suggestions the motorbike had been stolen, Natasha said: “The other lad left with a scratch on his face while my brother is fighting for his life.

“It wasn’t a stolen bike. It was his bike.

“Saved up every Xmas and birthday for it.”
