AN MSP has made a fresh call for CCTV to be installed at the city underpass where a number of women have been sexually assaulted.
In a message to residents in Gorgie and Dalry, Lothians MSP Sarah Boyack said attacks on women at the Telfer Subway earlier this month and at the end of July “underlined again the importance of additional CCTV in the area”.
She said: “We need a deterrence and a clear message to be sent that the subway is monitored. Dedicated CCTV for the subway would also help with identifying perpetrators.
“It is evident that community safety issues remain and that they are very serious. I am acutely aware that a number of residents feel unsafe.”
