The death of a man found in a street with serious injuries is being treated by police as murder.
The 46-year-old was found at Restalrig Circus at around 1am on Saturday after police were called to a disturbance in the street.
The man, who may have been in a pub earlier that night, was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but was later pronounced dead.
Police Scotland have launched a murder inquiry and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
Detective Chief Inspector Keith Hardie said: “This is a murder inquiry and we are keen to trace three men who were seen in the area at the time. We believe the victim had been in the Tor public house prior to the murder.
“Anyone who believes they heard or saw anything that could help with this investigation should contact police on 101.”
