The new £3 million Dalkeith Health Centre has been completed on time and is on course to open its doors by the end of the month.
The development will provide ten consulting rooms, nine community consulting rooms, three nursing consulting rooms as well as a range of other treatment rooms.
As well as Dalkeith Medical Practice staff, including GPs and nurses, the new health centre will provide a range of services including podiatry, physiotherapy, midwifery, speech therapists and community psychiatric nurses. Accommodation for visiting specialists and voluntary groups is also available.
David Small, general manager of East and Midlothian Community Health Partnerships, NHS Lothian, said: “I am absolutely delighted that the health centre is ready and that we can provide a first-class service to patients. I am confident that patients and their relatives and friends will enjoy the many benefits that a new, modern facility can offer.”
