New international routes helped drive an increase in passenger numbers at Edinburgh airport last month.
A total of 517,543 passengers travelled through Edinburgh Airport to international destinations in May, a 5.7% increase on the previous year.
The airport said this was largely due to the launch of a number of new routes last month, including easyJet’s services to Bodrum, Turkey, and Heraklion, Greece, Jet2’s service to Verona, Italy, and Swiss carrier Edelweiss’s flight to Zurich.
Three long-haul routes also launched, linking the airport with Chicago and Philadelphia in the US and Doha in Qatar.
A total of 937,093 passengers travelled through Edinburgh Airport last month, a 3.5% increase on May 2013.
