NHS Lothian is failing to meet a national waiting time target for access to children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), according to new figures.
The board is one of 13 not hitting an 18-week target set by the Scottish Government, with just over 59 per cent of people being seen within this period.
Ministers have said the target should be delivered for at least 90 per cent of individuals requiring assistance.
Leaders at the Scottish Children’s Services Coalition (SCSC) have called on the government to ensure the target is met. A spokesman said: “It is vitally important that we intervene early to ensure that these young people are able to realise their full potential.”
