EDINBURGH pop star Nina Nesbitt has told how she has been practising singing Flower of Scotland in the shower - ahead of her performance in front of 50,000 football fans at Hampden tonight.
The 19-year-old from Balerno was drafted in for the gig at the Scotland v Belgium match as a substitute for Amy Macdonald.
Nina has also revealed how she has only ever been to Hampden once before - to see U2.
“I’ve never been to a game in my life,” she was reported a saying today.
“I’m excited, it’s not sunk in that I’ll be singing at Hampden yet.
“The biggest crowd I’ve played to so far has been 12,000.
“I’m only doing two verses so by the time I get on, it will go so fast.”
She said she had no fears about stage fright: “I have been practising in the shower every morning.
“I know the lyrics, I used to sing it at school. Everyone will be singing along, if I freak out then I’ll just hold the mic up to the fans and let them do it.”
