Craggy film star Clint Eastwood dropped into Muirfield for a round of golf, the Evening News revealed on September 27, 1993.
The 63-year-old Dirty Harry star arrived at Aberlady by helicopter before playing the East Lothian course. He then brought a nearby restaurant to a standstill when he popped in for lunch.
Clint signed autographs and posed for pictures for diners at Green Craigs in Aberlady, whose owner Raymond Craig organised the Muirfield visit.
Raymond told the Evening News: “He was fabulous, a really nice guy. Just very down to earth.”
