Looking back through the years.

With the temperature rising into the 70s back in August 1965, children took full advantage of the cool waters of St Margaret’s Loch by taking a dip, while families rowed their boats.

Actress and singer Marlene Dietrich and singer-songwriter Burt Bacharach arrived at Edinburgh Airport ahead of a series of late-night concerts.

And 22-year-old Anna Tweedie posed on top of James Bond’s Aston Martin, from the film Goldfinger.

She was one of four Bond girls the agent would “rescue” during a stunt at the Edinburgh Tattoo.
