Ladies Day at Musselburgh Racecourse is all about coming first in the style stakes.
Now it seems even the female horses are getting in on the action.
City-based milliner Alison Howitt has designed the event’s first hat for a horse.
She said: “It was an honour to create a fascinator for a horse, as it was completely unique and something I never thought I would ever be asked to do.
“It’s a fun way to celebrate this year’s event and it’s great to have styled one of the most famous aspects of the day.”
The racing event is set to draw in crowds of around 9000 on June 15.
