When I hear the words ‘This is Edinburgh’, the first thing that springs to mind is: Home. I love the idea that I was born in and still reside in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

What makes me particularly proud to work in the city is: The fact that there is so much to see and do all year round. There is never a shortage of activities and events on in the city, whatever your taste.

There are so many hidden gems and new things to discover.

Why do you believe The Balmoral Hotel has remained such an Edinburgh institution?:The Balmoral has been an iconic Edinburgh landmark since 1902, every year its majestic clock tower features on news channels across the world when the clock strikes midnight at Hogmanay. The hotel enjoys a worldwide reputation for its excellent location and most importantly its quality of service, making it one of the most famous hotels in the UK.

Give us a tip as a local; tell us of a hidden gem most visitors to Edinburgh miss: This may sound a bit morbid, but Edinburgh has five World Heritage protected graveyards that are steeped in the city’s history. They are full of amazing monuments and statues and for those that believe in the paranormal, they give you an idea why Edinburgh is considered to be the most haunted city in the UK.
