Now its has become a ritual. Well, we’re dog lovers and the annual event is a charity, canines benefiting.

The day starts ten in the morning. All breeds welcome. Family fun. Free parking. And Dirleton is a desirable hamlet in East Lothian, you should know.

Can it be true?

. . . that Ikea is the planet’s third largest consumer of wood and that one in ten Europeans reportedly have been conceived in an Ikea bed?

. . . that the Police Federation have condemned the plan to ban the term “blacklist” and they are not to keen on “whitelist” either?

. . . sacked RAF staff have been informed by the Ministry of Defence that they are liable for call-up at any time over the next 20 years? I’ve told them I’ll answer the call if they need me.

Afterwords . .

. . . a happier Harry Redknapp with a warning about back-stabbers: “It’s something I have found in life, that even if you go out of your way to help people, they can still stick the knife in the first chance they get.”
