In the space of a year, Scotland Re:Designed has propelled home grown creatives into the fashion stratosphere.

A platform set up simply to help designers join the dots from creating collections then getting those designs into the hands of industry insiders and on to the backs of consumers will be coming to Edinburgh for a five-day exhibit from November 7.

They are currently looking for applicants from people working across fashion, textiles and design in Scotland before selecting 12 to showcase in Harvey Nichols and the Assembly Rooms.

From there the chosen 12 will have access to mentoring from leading figures within the industry as well as having the spotlight placed on their work.

This year’s panel is a pretty connected bunch. Harvey Nichol’s fashion director, Paula Reed; fashion curator of the Victoria and Albert Museum Jenny Lister; owner of Jane Davidson in Edinburgh Sarah Murray; and Liberty menswear buyer Ben Andrew.

I implore you to apply.

If I have learned anything from writing about fashion it’s to push out your comfort zone and make connections. Scotland Re:Designed is the perfect platform for that. Applications close September 27 at 4pm.

To apply go to www.scotlandredesigned.com/application.
