IAIN Banks drew tributes from across Scotland and beyond following his death last week.
A series of interviews he gave after finding he was terminally ill have only just been published, with one revealing the things he most regretted missing.
He said: “I’d love to see what’s going to happen next, in the oceans of Jupiter’s moon, Europa, and what we’ll out find in our solar system.”
Before adding: “I’m annoyed I won’t get to ride an Edinburgh tram.”

HE was out of this world as the Doctor – and now another alien adventure has put his name up in Hollywood lights.
David Tennant has landed an Emmy in Beverly Hills for outstanding performer in an animated programme for his role as droid Huyang in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Its director, Dave Filoni, said Tennant’s work in Doctor Who convinced him the Scot was perfect for the job.
