HE might be an Olympic hero, but that hasn’t stopped Sir Chris Hoy being berated by a pigeon.
The cyclist took to twitter to “apologise” after hitting a pigeon during a training ride – and quickly got a reply from @ThePigeonyouhit saying: “Yeah hi Chris. My mates aren’t too impressed and my Mrs is upset about the missing feathers!”
Seven reasons to be happy Hibbee
IT was a historic derby match which saw one of the Capital’s great football teams on the wrong end of a miserable defeat – and a scoreline that would turn into a long-running taunt.
But while Hearts fans might like to think this is referring to their 5-1 defeat of rivals Hibs in last season’s Scottish Cup – and the gesture which has spread round the world and even inspired a book – this is actually the monstrous 7-0 defeat of Hearts back in 1973. Fed up with the 5-1 taunts, Hibs have now started selling T-shirts with the legend “Zero-7 01-Jan 1973” and will be hoping their loyal fans can wear it with pride and remind their footballing neighbours they weren’t always the derby underdogs.
Trams folk are spaced out

Poster date for Filth
IT’s the movie date that Irvine Welsh fans are waiting for – and while there’s still no release date it seems we are set to get a glimpse of the forthcoming Capital crime epic Filth.
The movie, filmed in the Capital last year, will get its very own teaser trailer and poster released on Wednesday – although it will have its work cut out to be as iconic as the poster for Trainspotting, the hit movie adapted from Welsh’s bestselling novel.
