A GUN has been found by police searching a house and car in the east of the city.
Police said a man and woman, both 26, had been charged following the discovery in Brunstane Bank.
Both were expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: “Police Scotland will fully investigate all information received with regards to Serious and Organised Crime and Firearms within the communities we police.
“This is a significant recovery which has removed a lethal weapon from our streets along with a significant sum of money.
“I would appeal to the public who have information around firearms or Serious and Organised crime in their communities to provide that to their local officers, by contacting police on 101 or in confidence through the registered charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
