ENGINEERS were keeping a close eye on the water yesterday, as an aircraft carrier hull section was towed along the Forth.

The section is one part of Britain’s two new aircraft carriers being built in sections at six ship yards across the UK before being assembled by Babcock at Rosyth.

Earlier this year Goliath, the UK’s biggest crane at 68 metres high, passed under the Forth bridges on its way to Rosyth to be used in the assembly of the carriers.
