A VIOLENT thug who stabbed twin brothers after getting involved in a row outside a pigeon fanciers club has been jailed for eight years.
Derek Brown, 30, was found guilty of attempting to murder David Gorman and stabbing his brother, Stephen, to his severe injury on January 2, in Oakbank Road, East Calder.
Brown was also placed on licence for four years after his release from prison.
Sentencing Brown at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday, Lord Tyre told him: “There was an incident outside the pigeon club and you became involved by stabbing these two brothers.
“Knife crime in Scotland has to be dealt with severely. I need to take measures for the public protection. I hope on your release you will take measures to remove yourself from the community where you have a reputation for violence.”
