FASHION students at Edinburgh College of Art will be the first in the UK to use plus-size mannequins, ranging up to size 20.
Fashion commentator and former presenter of the BBC’s Clothes Show Caryn Franklin was set to join students to unveil the mannequins today.
Ms Franklin is the co-founder of All Walks Beyond The Catwalk, a UK-wide campaign to encourage and celebrate more diversity within the fashion industry.
As the All Walks Centre of Diversity, the college is working closely with the campaign to innovative educational methods and promote a positive attitude to body diversity.
The mannequins are part of the college’s ongoing commitment to this ethos. The standard size of mannequins used by fashion students is size 10.
