POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run in which a 20-year-old man was seriously hurt.
The incident happened around 2.10am this morning in St Mary’s Street, and the driver failed to stop.
The vehicle is described as a silver medium sized car and the driver is described as a white man in his 20s with short blonde hair.
St Mary’s Street was closed to vehicular traffic until mid-morning but has now re-opened.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
It comes less than two days after another man was injured in a “frightening” hit-and-run nearby.
The victim, also a 20-year-old man, was struck by a silver car on Edinburgh’s South Bridge, near High Street, at around 4am on Friday morning. He received minor injuries in the incident.
Police said there is nothing to suggest the incidents are linked.
