POLICE are hunting a gang of men after a terrifying attack saw fire bombs thrown at a house in West Lothian.

Three men were seen throwing a number of beer bottles containing what police described as “a flammable liquid” at a house in Winchburgh just before 8pm on Friday evening.

The occupants of the house in the Castle Terrace also saw a flash after watching the men throw the bottles at their front window, but fortunately while one of the bottles appears to have briefly ignited there was no serious damage to the property and no one was hurt.

Detective Sergeant Grant Paterson, who is leading the enquiry, said: “Both men were in their late teens or early 20’s and both had dark coloured hooded tops, with one also wearing dark bottoms.”

“Although witnesses saw a flash as one of the bottles ignited, there was fortunately no damage caused to the property.

“We are also keen to speak to a third man who was seen running out of the street by a witness, and he is described as a white man, about 5ft 9 inches in height with a light coloured goatee beard and wearing a red jacket.

“Anyone who has any information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or they can provide the information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
