POLICE have launched an investigation after two pensioners were found dead in a Lothian house.

The OAPs have been identified locally as Williamina Thomson and her unnamed brother.

Their bodies were discovered late on Monday night at a property on Royal Court in Penicuik.

Police Scotland today confirmed they had launched a probe into the deaths.

A spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information that can assist officers is asked to contact police.”

Yesterday, a neighbour said: “Williamina has lived in the street for years and is a lovely woman. I was saddened to hear she had been found dead.

“The area was closed off and detectives had arrived. The police wouldn’t tell us anything other than it was a serious
incident.

“I saw people in white suits walking back and forward from the house. This went on all day long.”
