DETECTIVES investigating the rape of a woman in the Meadows at the weekend have released an e-fit of a suspect.
The 19-year-old woman was attacked at around 7am on Saturday morning. Police believe the rapist may have posed as a jogger.
Detective Chief Inspector Alwyn Bell, who is leading the Inquiry, said: “We believe this is a very good likeness of the man we wish to trace. He is described as being between 20 and 30, 5ft 4in to 5ft 9in in height, of medium build and wearing a black beanie hat, dark trousers and black zip-up tracksuit top.
“This was a dreadful experience for the victim. It is essential we trace this man as soon as possible. I am appealing for anyone who recognises the description or e-fit picture of the man to call Police Scotland on 101 or provide the information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 as soon as possible.”
