POLICE today cordoned off part of Leith Walk following reports that an injured woman with blood on her face had been spotted in the area.
Officers sealed off a section of Elm Row after a member of the public alerted the police to the incident in the early hours of this morning.
Blood was spotted on the pavement which had apparently come from the victim.
It is not known how the woman came about her injury and she has not come forward to police, who are still investigating the report.
A police spokesman said: “We are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.”
