LORD Provost Donald Wilson was today hosting a high-level meeting with leading Chinese and Scots business leaders to foster relations between the two countries.
The CEO of the Bank of China and the boss of telecomms giant ZTE will be among a delegation visiting Edinburgh to hold talks on the future of city development, before visiting a number of successful firms.
They will then meet a range of Scottish business leaders with a view to investing in the city in the future.
Most of the representatives have London bases and are considering expanding into Scotland.
Guests at the Scotch Whisky Experience-based event will include a host of top lawyers, along with Skyscanner boss Gareth Williams and Kinloch Anderson from the Leith- based Highland kiltmaking dynasty.
Councillor Wilson said: “We endeavour to build stronger relationships with China across all areas and I believe the Edinburgh-China business relationship will flourish in the foreseeable future.”
