JIM Murphy is the red-hot favourite as the Scottish Labour leadership ballot opens, bookmakers have said.
The East Renfrewshire MP is leading the way after his odds were slashed from 2/5 to 2/9.
Bookmaker Coral believes his only competition comes from Lothians MSP Neil Findlay at 10/3, while Sarah Boyack, who also represents the Lothians, is the 9/1 outsider.
The leadership ballot opens on Monday.
“On paper it may look like a three-horse race, but Jim Murphy is miles ahead of his competitors in the race to become next Scottish Labour Leader,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
“Punters have ignored Murphy’s rivals and anything other than a win for the East Renfrewshire MP would come as a shock,”
