A POPULAR Lothians eatery is to reopen as a Chinese restaurant.

Restaurant 102, which had built up a good reputation in Musselburgh, unexpectedly shut down last year when its owners fell into administration.

But it has now been bought out of administration and is to reopen as a Chinese restaurant.

The restaurant, which enjoys a position close to Musselburgh Harbour in New Street, has been successfully sold by specialist business advisers Christie & Co, on behalf of administrators from Johnston Carmichael.

Barry McNeil, associate director at Christie & Co, who negotiated the sale, said: “We are delighted that this restaurant business has been restored in the town. It fulfils a much-needed niche in Musselburgh and is sure to be a popular destination in this densely populated area. We wish the new owners every success with their new venture.”
