AN East Lothian sports centre is to be kitted out in a £1 million revamp.
East Lothian Council, with the aid of funding from SportsScotland, will upgrade the sports facilities and office accommodation at Meadowmill Sports Centre in Prestonpans as part of its Legacy project.
SNP shadow cabinet member for community wellbeing, Councillor Stuart Currie, said: “It is good to see the commitments the SNP made being delivered with the award of this contract which will make a difference to these public facilities.”
But Councillor Currie criticised the decision not to award the contract for the works to an East Lothian firm.
He said: “Not a single job will be created in East Lothian from this £1m spend.”
