Three buses are to be fitted with novelty cow horns in order to moo-ve other vehicles out the way en route to the Highland Show.

Lothian Buses hybrid vehicles on the No. 98 service will run every 10-15 minutes from 23-26 June.

The use of environmentally-friendlier buses will, according to the firm, save around 6 tonnes of CO2, 99 per cent of nitrous oxides and 80 per cent of particulates.

Bill Devlin, engineering director at Lothian Buses, said: “The Royal Highland Show is a fantastic event in the Scottish calendar and we’re delighted to be supporting it once again. Our Special Service 98, which stops right outside the showground, is definitely the best option for travelling to the event.”
