THOUSANDS of runners wound their way down the Royal Mile as more than one million men, women and children across the UK completed the 2012 Sport Relief Mile.

Spurred on by some well known Scottish faces, including Rhona Cameron, Dougie Vipond and Cat Cubie, 2981 runners – many in fancy dress – completed the one, three or six miles in glorious sunshine.

Celebrity supporter Rhona Cameron said: “A big well done to everybody in Edinburgh today.”
