A BARKING mad craze which sees dogs being pictured alongside Santa has arrived at the Ocean Terminal.
The idea, which began in America, allows pet owners to get a souvenir photograph of their canine companions. And the photo sessions at the shopping centre will help raise funds for Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home at one of its busiest times of the year.
Michelle MacLeod, deputy manager at Ocean Terminal, said: “It’s a bit of fun which raises money for a very worthwhile charity.
“The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home is a neighbour to Ocean Terminal and we were keen to support their good work.
“We’re also Santa’s HQ for the season in Edinburgh and so this is the perfect way to help out. We’ll have separate sessions for kids and dogs but we are sure everyone, child or furry friend, will look good in their photograph with Santa.’
The Paws and Claus visits will be on a pre-booking only basis via the Ocean Terminal website, with sessions from 5.30pm and 7pm on Tuesday, December 16, and Thursday, December 18. A visit with a photo costs £7 and includes a donation to the EDCH. Dog lover Philippa Porritt, whose pets Wulfie, above, and Toffee, right, are pictured, is setting up the shoots.
She said: “This is quite a big thing in America. It’s a chance for people to help out dogs and cats that are not as fortunate as their own.”
