A SCHOOLGIRL has told a court how her dreams were haunted by an alleged stalker who kept “staring” at her.
The 15-year-old – who can’t be named for legal reasons – was giving evidence at the trial of Gordon Dunne, who denies causing the teenager fear and alarm.
The fourth-year pupil, speaking from behind a screen, told Livingston Sheriff Court today that Dunne, 54, stared at her during a church service when she was aged 14.
She said she then saw Dunne, from Birniehill Crescent in Bathgate, staring at her on other occasions between June 29 and July 20 last year.
The girl told the court: “I sometimes have nightmares. I think about it a lot when I’m trying to get to sleep. I’m scared all the time. I wasn’t able to go out for a few weeks after it happened.”
Dunne also denies sexually assaulting a ten-year-old girl at Bathgate Market and kicking a police officer.
The trial was adjourned.
