EDINBURGH chartered surveyor Nick Hancock may now be forced to postpone his bid to live on isolated Rockall for 60 days until next year.
He had hoped to land when sea swell was due to fall to four feet but was beaten by huge waves.
He now plans to investigate options for making a second attempt in the next few weeks.
But the biggest factor is time. Rougher weather in late summer might make it difficult for him to get off the rock safely and he still faces the problem of finding a suitable weather window to land.
It was possible, he admitted, he may need to wait until next year before trying again.
“I need to look at the options,” he said.
