Police are appealing for help to track down a shotgun missing from a local gun club.
Officers in Livingston said the gun, a Barretta 686E 12 gauge shotgun, was last seen at Morton Clay Targets, Morton Road, Mid Calder, on Thursday, April 3.
Detective Sergeant Craig Higgins, who is leading the enquiry, said: “It is believed the gun, which was unloaded, was taken from a gun rack at the rear of the club. The rack is used while clay pigeon shooting takes place at the cub, and despite extensive searches of the club and other areas, nothing has been found.
“I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about the whereabouts of this gun to contact Police Scotland on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
